Stephen A. Smith Wants To Build Broadcasting Big 3 With Magic Johnson & Michael Wilbon
Last year, ESPN made Stephen A. Smith its highest-paid sportscaster ever, when they signed him to a new five-year contract. The annual salary for the broadcasting legend sums up to at least $8 million, according to various reports.
So Smith can definitely be considered the face of ESPN. That he gets what he wants could be seen when the network got rid of Max Kellerman on First Take, as Smith reportedly requested.
Let’s see if ESPN can also make Smith’s next wish possible. Stephen A. wants to build a Big 3 consisting of Magic Johnson, Michael Wilbon and himself on NBA Countdown or elsewhere on ESPN,
“These days, what Stephen A. Smith wants at ESPN, Stephen A. gets. Next up, Magic Johnson. Smith wants to team up with Johnson, possibly on “NBA Countdown,” the pregame show that leads into the NBA Finals and other marquee games, according to sources.”
