Carmelo Anthony “Can’t Be At Peace” With Not Winning A Championship With Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers did not waste any time and quickly became one of the most productive teams in this year’s offseason. Some acquisitions they made include the addition of another star in Russell Westbrook, and a couple of very familiar names in Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, DeAndre Jordan and Trevor Ariza.
These additions plus the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis have Lakers fans excited to win another championship.
Winning a championship also is the reason why Carmelo Anthony decided to join the team. During an appearance on ‘The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’, Melo revealed that he had actually made peace with not winning a ring, until he joined the Lakers.
“There’s nothing that I’m trying to prove. If I hadn’t picked L.A., I would have been at peace walking away from the game, knowing that I gave everything I could and I still couldn’t win a championship. I would have been at peace with that. I would have been good. But now that I’m with the Lakers, I can’t be at peace with not winning a championship.”
