Nick Anderson Says Deandre Ayton Most Closely Resembles Shaquille O’Neal
Deandre Ayton has established himself as one of the most promising young talents in today’s NBA. Last season, Ayton played a critical role in Suns’ rise to the NBA Finals and averaged 15.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game throughout the NBA playoffs.
After his solid outing in both the regular season and the playoffs, Ayton has continued to draw a lot of praise and comparisons from fans and people around the association. Recently, the 23-year old big man received the best compliment coming from former Orlando Magic guard Nick Anderson.
Anderson played with one of the greatest centers of all-time in Shaquille O’Neal during his Magic days. While Shaq was definitely one of a kind, if there’s got to be a player that resembles Shaq the most, Anderson believes it’s Deandre Ayton.
“I would say DeAndre Ayton. The only thing is that I would like to see DeAndre Ayton be more aggressive. Don’t be tentative. When Shaq got that ball on the post, all hell would break loose.”
