Paul George Believes New NBA Wilson Basketball Contributes To Shooting Struggles Of Players

A number of players have gotten off to a sluggish start to the 2021-2022 NBA season. Some of those players include high-caliber offensive players such as Damian Lillard, James Harden and Luka Doncic, to name a few.

While many believes this struggle could be attributed to the new NBA rules that curtail non-basketball moves and unnatural shooting motions to draw a foul, Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George has a different opinion in mind.

According to the two-way Clippers star, the new NBA Wilson basketball that the NBA adopted as the official game ball since the start of the season is perhaps the reason why a lot of players are struggling to shoot the ball.

Per Sports Illustrated:

“Not to make an excuse or anything, it’s just a different basketball,” Paul George said. “It doesn’t have the same touch or softness as the Spalding ball had. You’ll see this year, there’s going to be a lot of bad misses.”
