LeBron James Reacts To Enes Kanter’s Public Criticism: “He’s Trying To Use My Name To Create An Opportunity For Himself”
Enes Kanter is certainly not someone who’s afraid to question and call anyone out when it comes to social issues, and he has shown this recently when he took a swipe at LeBron James for apparently failing to speak up on matters involving Nike and China.
LeBron has of course caught wind of Kanter’s public criticism and spoke to reporters about it after their 130-108 loss against the Boston Celtics on Friday.
Apparently, while Kanter did not hold back on calling out LeBron on Twitter, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar revealed that Kanter had the opportunity to come up to him personally in the hallway during Friday’s game but decided to walk past through him instead.
All in all, LeBron believes that the outspoken NBA big man was just trying to use his name for his own agenda.
“I don’t give too many people my energy,” said James, who made his return from an abdominal strain that cost him the previous eight games. “He’s definitely not someone I would give my energy to. He’s trying to use my name to create an opportunity for himself. I definitely won’t comment too much on that.
“He’s always had a word or two to say in my direction, and as a man, if you’ve got an issue with somebody, you really come up to him,” James said. “He [Kanter] saw me in the hallway tonight and he walked right past me.”
