Draymond Green Doubles Down On Claim That He’s The Best Defensive Player In NBA History

Draymond Green is a stellar defensive player. He has four NBA All-Defensive First Team and two NBA All-NBA Second Team honors throughout his career. He also led the league in steals and won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2017.

The eye test also doesn’t lie for the Golden State Warriors big man. Standing at roughly 6-foot-7, Green excels at protecting the rim and defending bigger and taller players in the post. He’s also very versatile that he can step out of the paint and slow down the best perimeter offensive players.

As an outspoken NBA player, Green continues to ooze confidence on his ability to perform on the defensive end. Speaking to Dennis Scott of NBA TV, the Golden State Warriors big man doubled down on his previous claim that he’s the best defensive player to ever play in the NBA.

“You can’t just be a great on-ball defender,” Green said. “You can’t just be a great weak-side defender. You have to put all of those things together.

“And when you’re looking at the defensive end, I think I put all those things together better than anybody in the history of the game.”
