Shaq On Falling In Love With Business: “When My First Tax Refund Check Came, I Was Like, Business Is Fun”
We all know how Shaq bought a Mercedes Benz for himself, his mother and his father with his first NBA salary. In general he went through his paycheck rather quickly, before getting to know how to handle money.
Shaq, who later went on to become the successful business man he is today, also thanks to some key advice by his agent, now was guest on Gary Vee’s podcast and was asked when exactly he fell in love with the business side of things.
O’Neal revealed that when he received his first tax-return cheque, everything changed for him:
“When I got my first tax-return cheque, I was like ‘Oh my god! Business is fun, I like it.'”
Shaq’s business portfolio today includes a wide range and variety of different branches and businesses. Aside from his classic investments in the stock market, Shaq owns several restaurant franchises between Papa John’s and Auntie Anne’s. He also once owned 155 Five Guys restaurants but has since sold his stake, just like he sold his stake of the Sacramento Kings earlier last year. Other significant investments include Lyft, Ring, and Vitaminwater.
