Chinese Fans Disgustingly Yell Racial Slurs At Former NBA Player Sonny Weems
Veteran wingman Sonny Weems has been somewhat of a journey man in his career.
After NBA stops in Denver and Toronto, Weems took his talents overseas and played for Zalgiris and Moscow in Europe, before returning to the NBA to play with the Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers.
In these past couple of years though, Weems has become somewhat of a star in China with averages well above the 20 point per game mark.
Unfortunately, after a recent game of his Guangdong Southern Tigers against the Liaoning Flying Leopards, Weems now was subjected to racial abuse from Chinese fans. In the following video, fans can be heard shouting the “N” word repeatedly, such as other slurs like “get out of China” at him.
During the game, a fight broke out between Weems and Chinese player Han Dejun which resulted in both players being ejected.

After this disgusting incident, the CBA released a statement, saying they have a “zero-tolerance attitude toward any discriminatory words or deeds”, while asking fans to not engage in “uncivilized behavior” and “vulgar words.”
