Andre Iguodala Was Badly Robbed At The 2006 NBA Slam Dunk Contest

It is Andre Iguodala’s birthday today. This means it’s time to look back at his 2006 Slam Dunk Contest.

February 18, 2006 – Philadelphia 76ers guard Andre Iguodala fell just short of claiming the 2006 Slam Dunk Contest crown in a controversial series of decisions that led to Iguodala earning lower scores for late dunks that were arguably more impressive than some of his earlier slams.

Also at the crux of the debate was Nate Robinson’s lack of judge-related repercussion for missing over a dozen attempts in one instance prior to completing his turn. Robinson would eventually take home top honors.
