Gabe Vincent’s Game-Winner Didn’t Count Because Erik Spoelstra Called A Time-Out Shortly Before He Shot It

Last night’s game between the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat was one for the ages.

It took the two teams three overtimes to find a deserving winner in Toronto. Every single starter of the Raptors played a minimum of 53 minutes, and Pascal Siakam even played the most minutes in an NBA game in five years, with his 57 minutes on the court.

The game could have ended earlier though. At the end of the second overtime, Heat guard Gabe Vincent hit the potential game-winning three. Unfortunately for him and the Heat, the three did not count, because Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra took a timeout just before the shot.
