Jimmy Butler Wishes The NBA Would Allow Players To Get Into Brawl During Games
The NBA strongly discourages any kind of physical conflict and has done efforts to suppress it over time. While player would often get into an on-court dust up, those situations never escalate into anything beyond taunting, pushing and such.
The NBA is not what it was in the past in terms of the physical brand of the game. While this change has been good for the league as a business and professional setting, apparently, some people are simply not enamored with the change, just like Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler.
Butler has been involved into a few altercations throughout his NBA career. Known as a tough guy who has never been one to turn his back against anyone, the 32-year old Heat superstar wishes the NBA would allow players to get into brawl during games.
Per Complex:
“There are some real rivalries out there. I just think the game has changed in a lot of ways. They’re not letting you get into no brawls no more. Nobody’s going to let you do that. I wish that they would let us do that a little bit, if I’m just being honest. I really do think they’re still there. The game has just changed. It’s not as much banging and knocking people to the ground anymore. You can’t do it like that—you get a flagrant 1, a flagrant 2, a tech, something. I wish it would go back to that time.”
