Stephen A. Smith Believes The Los Angeles Lakers Should Trade Anthony Davis After This Season
Anthony Davis is a force to reckon with for the Los Angeles Lakers, but 28-year old big man has a questionable durability and has battled a few injuries that forced him to miss significant time over the course of his Lakers career.
Davis only appeared in 36 regular season games and also ended up missing the rest of their playoff series against the Phoenix Suns last season. An MCL sprain has also plagued the 28-year old superstar early on this year, ultimately limiting his production and effectiveness with the team.
As Davis’ durability remains a cause of concern, outspoken media personality Stephen A. Smith expressed that the Lakers should explore trade offers for their All-Star big man after this season.
“They have to trade Anthony Davis. You don’t keep Anthony Davis, here’s why: his value is his value as a player, but durability is a question mark at age 28. As you get older, those durability questions are going to be even more prevalent. So when you think about how his stock is going to be as high as it’s ever going to be, isn’t that right now? And if you’re looking at LeBron James and the fact that you need additional pieces, Anthony Davis is the guy that you can get a lot for.”
