Josh Giddey’s List Of Basketball Idols Makes A Lot Of Sense
Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Josh Giddey has been one of the biggest surprises of this NBA season. The Australian point guard has taken the league by storm and has already set multiple records in his young NBA career.
The No. 6 overall pick of last year’s draft, became the youngest player in NBA history to register consecutive triple-doubles, and the second rookie in NBA history, after Oscar Robertson, to record three consecutive triple-doubles.
So it only is fair that Giddey is part of the 2022 All-Star Game festivities, as he will play in the Rising Stars game later tonight. During media availably earlier tonight, Giddey was asked about his basketball idols, and the players he chose, make a lot of sense, as they all had a somewhat similar game as him.
“I look up to a number of guys, I mean, Magic Johnson is a big one, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd… before I came to the NBA that were probably guys I loved watching the most. Bigger guards, great passers. Luka Doncic is another one. I mean he’s only a few years older than me, but when he came into the league, that’s when I really started watching the game.”
