Jarrett Allen Was Forced To Buy iPhone Just For Cavaliers’ Group Chat

Those who haven’t already before, have fallen in love with Jarrett Allen over this year’s All-Star Weekend in Cleveland.

Allen, who played in his first All-Star Game of his career, captivated with humility throughout the entire event, connected with fans, was joyful and simply had the greatest time.

When Allen sat down with ESPN’s Brian Windhorst during the All-Star Weekend, he revealed that he doesn’t like to spend money ‘just because it’s there’ and that he rather spends his money on good things.

This is when he revealed that he actually had to buy an iPhone, because his old Android wasn’t compatible with the Cavaliers’ group chat.

“So it’s funny. I actually had to get an iPhone — I have an Android and an iPhone — just ’cause they wouldnt let me in the group text. Sometimes, they’d be like: ‘J, why weren’t you at the event last night?’ It’s like: ‘What event?’ I wasn’t in the group text because they want all blue messages.”

Allen said it took him three and a half years before he caved in and decided to buy an iPhone, and that the group chat indeed was the deciding factor he eventually did.
