After Months Of Silence, Stephen Curry Opens Up About His Parents’ Divorce
Last year, Stephen and Dell Curry’s parents Sonya and Dell got separated.
Back then, Sonya Curry filed for divorce, which led to Dell publicly talking about his wife cheating on him.
Many fans agreed that it was kind of depressing, when the two were seen sitting separated in the same arena for Steph’s all-time 3-pointers made game.
But amidst the entire drama, Stephen Curry hadn’t said a word about the divorce, until now. In an interview with The Ringer, Curry revealed that living through his parents’ divorce after 33 years of marriage has been challenging.
“I could be mad and be like, ‘Y’all effed this up.’ I could have that approach,” he said. “But it’s going to be an acknowledgment of both of y’all in terms of how y’all raised me. The calmness I have in myself is because of y’all…
…I had to make sure I was in that moment [becoming the leader on the NBA’s all-time 3s made list] with both of them separately, and this wasn’t just this whole kind of thing. That is how I choose to approach that. Because it is challenging.”
