Marcus Morris On Loss To The Nuggets In 2020 Playoffs: “We Only Lost That Sh*t Because We Were In The Bubble”

During the 2020 NBA playoffs, no team had disappointed more than the Los Angeles Clippers led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. 

The team was dubbed as the favorite to win the championship, but they didn’t last long and quickly faced as an embarrassing result in the second-round of the playoffs, blowing a 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets.

As everyone knows, during that year, the NBA was forced to play its playoff games inside the NBA bubble at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. This was an unprecedented situation and brought a ton of unfamiliar circumstances to its teams and players. 

With how the situation differed from the traditional playoff basketball, it seemed like the NBA bubble made it hard for some teams and players to adjust.

Now, talking about losing to the Nuggets in the 2020 NBA playoffs, Clippers hard-nosed forward Marcus Morris said the reason for their loss was that they were playing in the bubble. He added that the Clippers would have won had they played in the usual NBA setting.

Per ESPN:

“We only lost that s— because we were in the bubble,” Morris told Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “[If] we weren’t in the bubble, we’d beat the s— out of them. Put that on the record. … Guys are out of their comfort zone. Kudos to Denver.”
