NBA Twitter Savagely Reacts To Lakers Getting Eliminated From Playoff Contention
The Los Angeles Lakers entered the season with high expectations after adding a third star in Russell Westbrook to pair with their dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Unfortunately, it hasn’t exactly worked out the way others said it would.
With their loss to the Suns last night, and San Antonio’s win over the Nuggets, the Lakers have been eliminated from playoff contention and will finish the season behind the teams like the Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs, who have been marred by injuries just like them.
After the Lakers’ exit was set in stone, NBA Twitter reacted accordingly and expectedly, they were a bit hostile and didn’t hold back.

I have been a Lakers fan since 1979 and this team is right up there with most disappointing and they look uninterested and the front office and ownership look inept. How do you fall this far after a championship two seasons ago? It takes some effort to fall this far so quickly

LeBron James, knowing his team is going to miss even the play-in tournament, is sitting out today … to validate his ankle/knee excuse. I will miss him in the playoffs … but he just can’t close.

Dear lakers , please stop playing lebron and AD for the rest of the szn . They deserve a better coach than frank vogel . Just give up and get them time to recover

Since preseason title favorites were first announced before the 1984-85 season, the top two teams have never failed to make the playoffs.
