Russell Westbrook Plans To Run It Back With LeBron James And Anthony Davis Next Season
Following their first-round exit in the 2021 NBA playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers opted in to revamp their roster and assemble a roster with more star power surrounding LeBron James and Anthony Davis. For this reason, the Lakers were able to land former league MVP Russell Westbrook.
The Lakers were projected to be a title-contending team following Westbrook’s arrival. But as we speak, the team is officially out of playoff contention following a 121-110 loss against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.
Westbrook has proven to be an odd fit for the Lakers and has been a hot commodity for all the wrong reasons throughout this season. Despite this, the 31-year old Lakers point guard said that his plan is to run it back with LeBron and Davis next season.
“That’s the plan, but nothing is promised. You’ve got to take one day at a time each day… Yes, we want to be able to see what that looks like over an 82-game season, but we’re not sure if that’s guaranteed.”
