Brian Windhorst Is Not Ruling Out A Potential LeBron James-Luka Doncic Pairing: “Would Also Love To Play With Luka”
LeBron James’ interest in playing with talented NBA players is hardly a secret. He has embraced it over the course of his career, as evidenced by the fair of share of star teammates he has played with such as Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook.
Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has drawn a ton of attention after he named Golden State Warriors three-time champion Stephen Curry as the active player he would most like to play with in today’s NBA.
But since the possibility of LeBron teaming up with Curry is highly unlikely for now, NBA insider Brian Windhorst isn’t ruling out the idea of LeBron eyeing a different superstar to team up with, consequently naming Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic as one player to look out for.
“I would say something else though,” Windhorst said. “As part of this answer, LeBron was having fun here to be clear. He wasn’t making a declarative statement. He talked about how much he admires Luka Doncic, and that is something that you should put in your back pocket.”
“The best way you can see how LeBron feels about people is who he drafts in his All-Star draft,” Windhorst said. “He has drafted Luka Doncic all three years he’s been an All-Star.
“He tried to recruit Luka Doncic to his brand within Nike a few years ago. Luka picked the Jordan brand instead. He, I think, would also love to play with Luka.”
