Jimmy Butler Told Erik Spoelstra That He Doesn’t Want To Play With Victor Oladipo, Per Skip Bayless
During the 2020-21 season, the Miami Heat acquired two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo in a mid-season trade with the Houston Rockets. The trade was done in order for the Heat to secure some additional star power alongside Jimmy Butler.
However, it hasn’t gone as planned, as Oladipo’s tenure with the team was derailed by multiple injuries. Even after making a full recovery, the 29-year old Heat guard still struggles to find his place on the court and is basically out of Miami’s rotation.
The hard-nosed Miami team is currently holding a 2-0 lead against the Atlanta Hawks in their first-round playoff series. Despite having the momentum in both games, Oladipo has yet to see any playing time for the Heat.
Apparently, the reason for his lack of playing time may have something to do with Jimmy Butler. According to popular media figure Skip Bayless, Butler told head coach Erik Spoelstra that he doesn’t want to share the floor with Oladipo.
Per Heat Nation:
“Both games he has not seen the light of play,” Bayless said on a recent episode of Skip and Shannon: Undisputed (h/t Robert Marvi of Heat Nation).” “Why is that? Well I was told it’s because Jimmy [Butler] just flat out told Spo (Heat coach Erik Spoelstra), ‘I don’t want to share the floor with him.’”
