Jazz Assistant Coach Keyon Dooling Placed On Administrative Leave After Being Arrested In NBPA Fraud Case
In October of 2021, Tom Winter broke the story about the arrest of 18 former NBA players for defrauding the NBA’s Health and Welfare Benefit Plan. The reports sent shockwaves through the NBA world, and the entire situation was shameful.
One of the tactics of the former players in this fraud has been revealed by the U.S. attorney – Tony Allen, Glen Davis and Tony Wroten for example, claimed that they got root canals on the same six teeth on the same day.
We haven’t heard too much about this story until yesterday, when the Utah Jazz revealed that assistant coach Keyon Dooling has been placed on administrative leave after being charged in the fraud case involving the NBA’s Health and Welfare Benefit Plan.
Dooling, who was the National Basketball Players Association’s vice president during his active playing days, was arrested Wednesday.
Per The Associated Press:
In a statement, the Jazz said Dooling made the club aware of the indictment Wednesday morning.
“It is a case concerning his time at the National Basketball Players Association, prior to him joining our organization. He has been put on paid administrative leave,” the Jazz said. “Due to the ongoing legal process, we will refrain from further comment.”
