Game-Worn Kobe Bryant Rookie Jersey Expected To Sell For $3-5 Million At Auction

Ever since Kobe Bryant’s tragic death, his sneakers, jerseys, and memorabilia have been in high demand.

Last year, one of Michael Jordan’s game-worn jerseys from the 1982-83 championship season at the University of North Carolina sold for the record-breaking sum of $1.38 million. Then, a Bryant’s rookie jerseys went for $3.69 million a bit later last year. That autographed, yellow game-worn jersey was the highest price ever for a basketball jersey. That record could soon be shattered again.

A playoff game-worn Kobe Bryant rookie season jersey will now be sold at auction, and could reportedly fetch between $3 million and $5 million.

The jersey’s authenticity has been verified by independent authenticators, and was photo-matched, according to David Kohler of SCP Auctions.

Per NBC Sports:

“We feel this could bring a record for any basketball jersey.”

The jersey can be viewed by appointment at SCP Auctions in Laguna Niguel. The auction starts on May 18, and ends June 4.
