The Phoenix Suns Are Championship Pretenders

The Suns were exposed against the Dallas Mavericks, and this series spoke to the favorable run they had to the NBA Finals last season before blowing a 2-0 lead against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Suns won 65 games this season, the most wins since the 73-win Warriors in 2016, but were never battle tested the way in which a real champion should be.

Then, when they finally faced adversity against a team that was good enough to beat them, they folded and crumbled in the biggest game of the season on their home floor.

There are no excuses. The Suns ran around this season like they’d already won the chip. They were arrogant and they trash talked everyone they played, often disrespectfully.

In the end they were humbled, and were reminded that despite being a great regular season team, they have won absolutely nothing and it stays that way.

Chris Paul remains ringless, has lost five straight series after leading 2-0, and Devin Booker realized the difference between him and Luka Doncic is the Grand Canyon.

Stay humble y’all.
