Amar’e Stoudemire Rips Tyler Herro For Underperforming In The NBA Playoffs: “Where’s His Focus?”
Tyler Herro just had his best year yet in the NBA, putting up a terrific regular season with averages of 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game on 44.7% shooting from the field. His impact as a bench player was felt tremendously, leaving him as the winner of the Sixth Man of the Year award.
The 21-year old however has had his fair share of struggles in this year’s playoffs and clearly has not lived up to his regular season production, averaging just 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game on 42.7% shooting from the field through 13 playoff games.
Many observers have criticized Herro on this matter including former Phoenix Suns star Amar’e Stoudemire. Appearing on ESPN’s First Take, Stoudemire blasted the Sixth Man of the Year for his lack of focus in the NBA playoffs.
“Where’s his focus?” Stoudemire said of Herro. “He wants to wear the shades. He wants to have his back out in the press conference. He wants to do the gun show. He wants all this entertainment stuff, but where is the focus on basketball?”
