JJ Redick Destroys Max Kellerman’s Claim That Luka Doncic Doesn’t Make Teammates Better
ESPN has always had its fair share of controversial personalities. This is what draws the attention and generates some headlines. And it seems to have worked out brilliantly for them – whether that is Stephen A. Smith, or Chris Russo.
The network at least has put former sharpshooter JJ Redick in the spotlight in these last two years, and fans love it, as Redick has quickly become a viewer favorite with his spot-on analytics and insights, while representing the players’ standpoint.
Redick is also one to call out the nonsense, or off takes, of the other personalities like Russo, Smith, and most recently, Max Kellerman.
Kellerman claimed that Luka Doncic, unlike Magic Johnson or Larry Bird, doesn’t make his teammates better. Redick strongly disagreed and explained why.
“Luka doesn’t make people better? Magic & Bird they played with Hall of Famers. Luka is playing on a team with rotation players, with second round picks, undrafted guys like Dorian Finney-Smith. His shot quality created for his teammates in the last two seasons in the NBA – number one in the NBA. They’re shooting 33% on wide open threes. It’s not his fault they can’t make shots.”
