Jimmy Butler On Attempting A Three-Pointer In Finals Seconds Of Game 7: “My Thought Process Was Go For The Win”
The Miami Heat were eliminated from the NBA playoffs after losing to the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference on Sunday.
It was a close encounter as the Heat came out swinging and managed to cut down Boston’s lead to two points with under a minute left in the fourth quarter.
But with 19 seconds left in the fourth and Boston leading 98-96, Heat superstar Jimmy Butler decided to pull up from the three-point line in transition with Al Horford guarding him, instead of taking it to rack or holding the ball for a better shot.
The 32-year old swingman missed the go-ahead three-pointer, and the Heat never recovered. They eventually headed off the court in a 100-96 loss.
While Butler has found himself in the forefront of criticism, he seems to have no regrets with it and told that even his teammates had no problem with his shot.
“My thought process was go for the win…my teammates like the shot that I took so I’m living with it.”
