Udonis Haslem Is Taking A Mental Health Break After Eastern Conference Finals Loss: “I Want To Be Playing Right Now”

Udonis Haslem was once a serviceable player for the Miami Heat, but those days are gone now as the veteran Heat enforcer rarely gets on the court and has only played 58 regular season games since the 2015-16 NBA season. 

But while his playing days are way behind him, Haslem continues to hold a roster spot for the Heat due to his commendable leadership and veteran presence from the bench and inside the locker room. 

This playoffs, Haslem showed all kinds of emotions, and he was visibly disgruntled after the Heat lost to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals in seven games. 

Appearing in a recent interview, the 41-year old now said that he’s taking a mental health break after failing to advance to the 2022 NBA Finals.

Per Sun Sentinel:

“I want to be playing right now,” Haslem said. “But ain’t get what I want. I want to still be playing. So I’m not getting what I want in the moment. So right now it’s time to take a mental break and then figure that out, after that.”
