The New York Knicks Reportedly Have Had Internal Conversations About Bringing Back Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony played seven seasons with the New York Knicks where he averaged 24.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game on 44.3% shooting from the field. He was the face of the franchise and their leader that helped them reach three postseason trips.
The 38-year old scorer last played for the Knicks in 2017 before seeing himself bounce from team to team. Over the years, a number of rumors and speculations have surfaced about a potential reunion between Anthony and the Knicks, but none of it gained strong development.
Anthony, who signed with the Los Angeles Lakers last season, is set to become an unrestricted free agent in this upcoming summer. With Anthony and the Knicks having a lot of history together, could a reunion be on the horizon?
According to a recent report published by New York Post’s Marc Berman, the Knicks brass has had internal conversations about bringing back the former Knicks superstar.
“According to a source, Knicks brass has had internal conversations about Anthony,” the New York Post’s Marc Berman wrote. “Though more pressing concerns about how to rebuild a franchise that’s missed the playoffs eight of the past nine years have taken precedence.”
