Mitchell Robinson Breaks Knicks’ Almost 30-Year Long Charlie Ward Curse
After some early-season struggles last season, Mitchell Robinson turned a corner big time. The Knicks’ big man has played phenomenally, while remaining as efficient as ever.
Through 72 games last season he averaged 8.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks, while shooting 76.1% from the field.
Amidst his regained on-court success, Robinson now made New York Knicks history, when he signed a four-year, $60 million contract to stay with the team.
By doing so, Robinson broke the incredible Charlie Ward curse. Ward was drafted by the Knicks in the 1994 NBA draft and had been the last Knicks’ draft pick to get a second contract with the team.
