Lakers Insider Says There’s A Slight Divide Between LeBron James And Lakers Front Office About Roster Construction

Even though the responsibility of roster construction falls on the front office, it’s no secret that some teams would still cater to their superstars and would give them some sort of authority to affect the team’s decision-making. This is exactly the case with the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James.

After LeBron advocated to trade for Russell Westbrook last season, it seems like the four-time NBA champion is once again exercising his power over their front office by pushing the team to make a deal centered on Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving.

While Irving is figured to be a good potential addition, it doesn’t appear that LeBron is on the same page as everyone else in the Lakers front office, and this has caused a “slight divide” between them as some people internally prefer the likes of Buddy Hield and Myles Turner over the 30-year old Nets star.

“I think there’s a slight divide right now where LeBron wants Kyrie and some people internally might prefer a Myles Turner/Buddy Hield type deal.”
