3×3 Basketball In Downtown Birmingham During The 2022 Commonwealth Games
In the last couple of years, 3×3 basketball has been on the rise. The fast-paced game has grown especially popular in Europe, where it has become a summer staple for many basketball players and fans alike.
3×3, is played on one sole basket with an attack time of just 12 seconds. The 12 seconds are restarted immediately after a basket has been scored. This is how fair, fast and dynamic basketball games are created. The game is to bring basketball from the hall and arenas to public places and spectacular locations.
For it to be closer to the streetball culture, there often are accompanying shows, such as dunk contests and shoot-outs, or music programs to create the highest entertainment value possible.
3×3 basketball will also be featured at the Commonwealth Games this summer, which is a first, and you can even find odds on the matches via several betting offers. Birmingham is hosting the event this year and the event will host games between July 29th and August 2nd. It will host tournaments for men, women and wheelchair users.
According to the host, 12 nations will be represented at the Commonwealth Games tournament, including England, Canada and Australia.
The Commonwealth Games is an international multi-sport event involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The event was first held in 1930, and, with the exception of 1942 and 1946, has taken place every four years since then.
Aside from 3×3 basketball there will be 11 days of swimming and diving, eight days of cricket, eight days of gymnastics and seven days of athletics, including the marathon, a spectacular home Games.
The Birmingham 2022 competition schedule features more medal events for women than men for the first time in Commonwealth Games history, as well as a fully integrated para-sport program.
