Andrew Wiggins Says He Regrets Taking The COVID-19 Vaccine: “I Just Don’t Like Putting All That Stuff In My Body”

Prior to the start of the 2021-22 NBA season, Andrew Wiggins initially made a personal decision to opt out of getting vaccinated for COVID-19. The Golden State Warriors swingman even applied for a religious exemption, but it was ultimately denied by the NBA.

Facing the risk of not being allowed to play home games and getting paid less due to San Francisco’s COVID-19 regulations, Wiggins had no choice but to receive the shot in order to play full-time for Golden State.

Even though one of the outcomes of taking the vaccine was a career year, highlighted by an All-Star appearance and an NBA championship, Wiggins set straight during an interview that he still regrets taking the COVID-19 vaccine.

 

“I still wish I didn’t get it,” Wiggins said, referring to the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I did it, and I was an All-Star this year and champion, so that was the good part, just not missing out on the year, the best year of my career,” he added. “But for my body, I just don’t like putting all that stuff in my body, so I didn’t like that and I didn’t like that it wasn’t my choice. I didn’t like that it was either get this or don’t play.”
