Klay Thompson Heartwarmingly Makes Wish Come True For Teenage Cancer Survivor
Last season, Klay Thompson had been getting back into form, after his long-awaited comeback earlier this season, only to be his best again come playoff time.
After working his way back following the torn ACL he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals, Thompson received another devastating blow, when an injury he suffered in last year’s offseason turned out to be an Achilles tear.
But his hard work and strong will paid off, as Thompson was able to help the Warriors win the 2022 NBA Championship, and collect his title number four.
Someone who also needed a strong will to get through incredibly hard times, is 15-year old Joseph Tagaban.
In December 2020, Tagaban, a young basketball standout, found out that he had a rare form of cancer known as acute myeloid leukemia. After enduring nine months of treatment, it was his wish to meet Klay.
The NBA champion immediately agreed and when Tagaban met his basketball hero, he was surprised that Thompson didn’t come empty handed. Thompson brought an incredible gift – an autographed photo of Kobe Bryant, that Bryant gifted Klay at his 2007 Nike Kobe Skills Academy.
