Andre Iguodala Compares Anthony Edwards To Dwyane Wade, Wants Him To Experience Heat Culture

Andre Iguodala is joined by three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade in a recent of “Point Forward” podcast. Discussing a range of NBA-related topics, the two NBA personalities took their attention on one of the game’s brightest young stars in Anthony Edwards.

Edwards has been a revelation for the Minnesota Timberwolves ever since he was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft. Last season, he averaged 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assist per game on 44.1% shooting from the field and helped the Wolves crack the NBA playoffs.

Iguodala now recalled a time matching up with the young Wolves star. While doing so, the 38-year old NBA veteran mentioned that Edwards made him think about retirement and how he could move like Dwyane Wade.

“The kid came at me full speed one time, and he did an in and out, and there was absolutely nothing I could do,” Iguodala said of Edwards. “I’m like, ‘It’s time for me to wrap it up.’

“This kid, he’s different. He’s like you (Wade) when he can change those directions, and he can split pick-and-rolls, and then he’s explosive coming out of it. It’s insane, and all he need is — he need two months of Miami basketball, and it’s over with.”
