Dirk Nowitzki Opens Up About His Relationship With Luka Doncic: “He’s Just Like Me 20 Years Ago”

Doncic still is in the earlier stages of his NBA career, and the greatest Maverick of all-time, his former teammate Dirk Nowitzki now opened up on about his relationship with Luka. 

Per WFAA:

“He is just like me 20 years ago… When you’re not sure and English is not your first language, I think you’re always a little shy with the cameras on. I didn’t want to say anything wrong. I was just the same way. Once the camera’s off, this kid is hilarious. He busts everybody. He’s a jokester….

He loves to have fun with his teammates and with people around him that he’s comfortable. So, I think with me, he feels fairly comfortable. He says whatever, and we usually enjoy each other’s company.

He knows that anything he ever needs, I’m more than happy to help him out. Whether it’s on or off the court, he knows that I’m always in his corner. He’s such a great kid. He’s got a huge heart. He wants to do well, so if there’s anything I can ever do for him, I’m happy to do so.”
