NBA Executive Thinks Teams Should Be Wary Of Trading For Jae Crowder: “That’s Not A Team Player”
Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder is now on the trading block after the 32-year old forward and the Suns mutually agreed that he would sit out the training camp as the front office searches for a trade partner.
The situation escalated after Crowder realized that he may lose the starting spot to teammate Cameron Johnson, who was a Sixth Man of the Year finalist last season with averages of 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game on 46.0% shooting.
A number of teams have already been linked to Crowder over the recent days. While Crowder could still be a reliable 3-and-D player, one NBA executive thinks teams should be hesitant on trading for the 32-year old Suns forward.
Per Hoops Wire:
“He’s a nice player, a veteran who has won, someone who can help you in that (3-and-D) aspect,” the GM told Hoops Wire.
“But I’d be real hesitant to get a guy who wants traded simply because he was told he’d have to earn his starting spot,” the GM continued. “That’s not a team player.”
