D’Angelo Russell Sends Warning To The Rest Of The League: “I Don’t Think Anybody Wants To Match Up Against Us”
The Minnesota Timberwolves entered last year’s NBA playoffs after boasting a 46-36 record during the regular season. Looking quite promising, things unfortunately didn’t go as planned as the team went crumpling against the Memphis Grizzlies in their first-round series matchup.
Following their playoff exit, it was only a matter of time until the young Wolves team got themselves a significant upgrade by acquiring three-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz.
Gobert may not turn heads offensively, but the 30-year old big man changes the game on defense and is one of top rebounders in the NBA. Pairing him with polarizing offensive players such as Karl Anthony-Towns and Anthony Edwards will surely be a treat to watch.
As the 2022-23 NBA season kicks off, Timberwolves point guard D’Angelo Russell now made it no secret that the team poses a bigger threat after signing the former Jazz center, saying that no team would want to match up against them this season.
“People wanna watch you play but they don’t wanna play against you… we’re exciting on tv. We were that team, so I think that prepares us for this year coming up. We’re the team that everybody is talking about, I don’t think anybody wants to match up against us. We have the personnel to match up with anybody, so that’s a good problem to have as a coach.”
