Stephen Jackson And Paul Pierce Express Doubts About The Los Angeles Lakers: “Not Gonna Even Make The Playoffs”
The Los Angeles Lakers have retooled this season following a disappointing campaign that saw them missing the NBA playoffs. They necessarily didn’t shake up the NBA offseason, but they made a perfect maneuver to go younger and more athletic this season.
The full potential of their trio of Russell Westbrook, LeBron James and Anthony Davis remains to be the seen, but their collective performance should at least be elevated by the additions of Patrick Beverley, Lonnie Walker IV, Damian Jones, Dennis Schroder, Troy Brown Jr, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Thomas Bryant.
The team definitely looks better today than it was a season ago. However, some basketball pundits such as Stephen Jackson and Paul Pierce still got some doubts about the Lakers’ potential of becoming a legitimate playoff threat in the Western Conference.
Stephen Jackson: “I just don’t see A.D. showing up in practice like, ‘Look bruh, everybody get on my back this year. I got it. F— what they talk about in the media. F— all that s—. Let’s get on my back. I got it.’ He’s not coming in there and saying that,” Jackson said. “And if he don’t have that attitude, they not gonna even make the playoffs.”
Paul Pierce: “I don’t even think the Lakers gonna be a top eight seed.”
Our guys don’t see Lakers having any success unless Anthony Davis is healthy and dominant.
