Tyrese Haliburton Says Kings Trading Him Was The Best Thing That Could Have Happened For His Career

Tyrese Haliburton has made an immediate impact on the Indiana Pacers after his trade from the Sacramento Kings last February.

The young point guard has more than proven already that he not only is an incredible pass-first point guard, but also a very good shooter. I’d be surprised if the Sacramento Kings not end up being in agony over trading him, sooner than later. He simply got all the tools one needs to become one of the greatest guards in the NBA.

Through is first three games of the 2022-23 season, Haliburton is averaging 25.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 9.7 assists on 50% shooting from the field, 41.2% from three, and 94.7% from the line.

A 20/10 season was his self-proclaimed goal in the offseason and Haliburton is certainly well on his way through three appearances.

In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, the young star now talked about his trade to Indiana, revealed how it changed everything for him, and turned out to be the best thing for his career, even though he was frustrated at first.

“I had an immature view of things when I got traded. I was very frustrated, mad at the whole Kings organization, mad at the world. I felt like, looking back on it months later it’s probably one of the best things that could have happened for my career. It’s accelerated that process where I wanna be, which is a leader, and I get that chance here and I’m really excited about it.”

“I got traded in February, I think like the start of the summer for me just because I had some time to unwind and got to get away from basketball. One little vacation after the season, I just needed to reflect on things and just think to myself how crazy it is that I’m even in the NBA.”
