NBA Twitter Blasted Kyrie Irving For Telling Biden To ‘Do His Job’ And Free Brittney Griner, After He Sat Out Most Of Last Season
Brittney Griner has now been in a Russian prison for almost 250 days, and according to her lawyer, she’s ‘increasingly anxious’ about her chances of being freed in a prisoner swap, which has led to major emotional struggles.
This is also why Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving now directed an emotional plea to U.S. President Joe Biden to bring home Griner.
“I appreciate us being able to share this floor together, all of us as brothers. But the big picture that’s going on in the world is free our sister, Brittney Griner, please. Please, POTUS, do your job. Everybody do your job. Please bring our sister home. And we wouldn’t be doing our jobs to the best of our ability if we didn’t stand on what we believe in.”

Irving’s statement however was met with heaps of criticism. Especially the ‘POTUS, do your job. Everybody do your job’ part left a nasty taste in the mouth of NBA fans, due to Kyrie being the one who wasn’t doing his job last season.

Kyrie Irving telling Joe Biden to “do your job” in regards to Brittney Griner as part of his pregame speech when this man didn’t show up to work 53 times last year… c’mon man.

I mean, the irony of Kyrie telling anyone to do their job after last year is…something. But does he think Biden has the power to get Griner out of Russia by asking nicely? Baffling lack of logic.

Kyrie told Biden to “do his job” and bring Brittney Griner home. I didn’t know that was a president’s job

We asked Kyrie to “do his job” while he was in Boston, and he called us Boston fans “racists”. Now Kyrie is calling Biden and telling him “POTUS DO YOUR JOB”. This is hilarious to me

LOL @ Kyrie telling Joe Biden to do his job. Like he don’t miss 52 games a year.

Kyrie Irving tells Biden to do his job and then promptly goes out AND DOESN’T DO HIS JOB.

Biden could’ve watched that game last night and told Kyrie the same thing https://t.co/w2RVowzTLW
