Lakers Fans Praised Russell Westbrook After Great Game Off The Bench Against Nuggets And Apologized
After failing to make the NBA playoffs last season, the Los Angeles Lakers made a big change at the head coach position, as they moved on from Frank Vogel to Darvin Ham. They also focused on bringing in younger and athletic role players this season as opposed to the year prior.
But while the Lakers attempted to get better, the team opened up the 2022-23 NBA season with a 0-5 record and many NBA fans and pundits felt that it’s time for the Lakers to pull the trigger for a Russell Westbrook trade, who was the main scapegoat after their subpar start.
In game six of the season however, the Lakers were finally able to collect a win. More so, Westbrook led the team in plus-minus and had a great performance in his new role off the bench, with with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.
After the game, fans praised Westbrook for his performance and were apologetic for scrutinizing him, and making him the scapegoat.

with the way the Lakers compete defensively.. all they gotta do is make open shots and limit the turnovers

Ain’t no way it took the players and the staff 2 years to figure out that if they give the ball to Russ he’ll play better

Lakers fans, this energy Russ is giving y’all isn’t because he’s coming off the bench. It’s because he’s running the offense and not LeBron. Y’all don’t wanna believe that tho

The first game that Russ is ACTUALLY allowed to play point guard, the Lakers end up WINNING. Imagine that.
