One NBA Executive Says The Los Angeles Clippers, Not The Warriors, Are The Team To Beat In The Western Conference
The Golden State Warriors have put themselves back at the top of the NBA world after beating the Boston Celtics to win the 2021-22 NBA championship. On the heel of a strong showing against the Celtics, the Warriors unsurprisingly opened up the new NBA season as early title favorites.
But while the Warriors are drawing most of the spotlight, one Western Conference powerhouse seems to be making waves as a legitimate threat to dethrone the defending NBA champions. That West coast team is none other than the Los Angeles Clippers.
Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are finally back together. The Clippers are also loaded with solid rotational players like Norman Powell, Robert Covington, Reggie Jackson, Ivica Zubac, among others, and they just added former All-Star John Wall in the recent offseason.
The Clippers might not be everyone’s favorite, but according to one Western Conference general manager, the Kawhi-led team is the team to beat in the West, not the Warriors.
“The Clippers are the team to beat. I don’t even think Golden State is in their class. The Clippers have too much depth.”
