Miles Bridges Pleads No Contest To Felony Domestic Violence Charge, Avoids Jail Time
In July, Miles Bridges was arrested for felony domestic violence in Los Angeles. The 24-year old then-Hornets star turned himself into a local jail regarding a physical altercation.
In the aftermath, Bridges’ wife, Mychelle Johnson, the victim of the attack went public and shared some horrific details and pictures. She revealed that Bridges broke her nose and fractured her wrist, while also suffering a torn eardrum and torn muscles in her neck from being choked unconscious, as well as a severe concussion.
This led to the free agent forward facing one felony count of injuring a child’s parent and two felony counts of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause great bodily injury or death.
In a turn of events, Bridges however will avoid jail time, after he now pleaded no contest according to ESPN.
Bridges is facing three years of probation as part of the agreement with prosecutors, and has to undergo 52 weeks of both domestic violence counseling and parenting classes, as well as serving 100 hours of community service, while also undergoing weekly narcotics testing.
“We believe this resolution was the best avenue to hold Mr. Bridges accountable for his conduct,” the district attorney’s office said. “We also understand through the victim’s representatives that the victim wanted an expedited resolution of the case. The victim and her representatives were consulted about the proposed resolution and agreed with the outcome of the case.”
