Kevin Durant Wants To Become Team Owner As Part Of Washington Commanders’ New Ownership Group

We all know that Michael Jordan is the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets franchise. We also know that LeBron James’ goal is to follow in the footsteps of Jordan in this field of work, too, and that he’s eyeing a potential Las Vegas expansion franchise.

But James isn’t the only active NBA superstar with the goal of becoming a team owner. Kevin Durant  is reportedly interested in becoming a part owner of the Washington Commanders. 

Dan Snyder opted to sell the Washington Commanders, and while the usual suspects like Jeff Bezos and Byron Allen have entered the chat as potential buyers, it sure sounds as Durant is throwing his hat in the ring, too.

Per ESPN:

Durant claims, “he is hopeful that he can be part of the organization’s new ownership group if the opportunity ever presented itself.” The Nets’ star doesn’t have the finances to make a purchase big enough to be the controlling owner. However, he could definitely join an ownership group.

Kevin Durant states, “In a perfect world, I would be a part of it. I would love to do it. I would love to give a little bit of my money to be a part of the Commanders, but we’ll see. Hopefully, it’s somebody nice. I heard Bezos and Jay-Z, but you never know,”
