The Dallas Mavericks Are Reportedly A Team To Watch To Land Ben Simmons: “Interesting Fit Next To Luka”
As the Brooklyn Nets continue to have a rocky start early in the 2022-23 NBA season, one of Brooklyn’s most notable players who has emerged as a potential trade piece is Ben Simmons.
Simmons didn’t suit up for the Philadelphia 76ers last season and was dealt during the trade deadline for former Nets superstar James Harden. Due to mental health issues and back injury, Simmons eventually ended up sitting out the rest of his season with the Nets.
Despite his glaring weaknesses, Simmons was still a 16-8-8 guy and an All-Star caliber player back with the Sixers. This season however, that version of Simmons has been non-existent for the struggling Nets team.
Now, if the Nets eventually decide to move on from the former No.1 overall pick, one Western Conference executive suggested that the Dallas Mavericks are a team to keep an eye on to acquire Simmons.
Per Heavy.com:
“Dallas is a team to watch, Simmons would be an interesting fit next to Luka (Doncic) if the Nets were willing to take back (Tim) Hardaway and (Davis) Bertans. I am not sure how much higher the Mavs could go in terms of an offer but that would definitely be interesting for Luka.”
