Jayson Tatum, Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, Dennis Rodman – The Most Ridiculous Technical Fouls In NBA History

During the Boston Celtics’ win over the Oklahoma City Thunder last night, Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum was hit with one of the most ridiculous Technical Fouls in recent history.

Frustrated about himself for committing a foul, Tatum clapped his hands. The referees however thought the clapping was too excessive and handed him a T.

This obviously isn’t the first ridiculous technical foul call in the NBA, let’s have a look at some other ones –possibly the most ridiculous and weird Ts, that even led to ejections in league history.

Tim Duncan Was Ejected For Laughing

On April 15, 2007, NBA referee Joey Crawford was involved in a strange incident. He ejected Tim Duncan for laughing from the bench at a couple of his foul calls in a game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Duncan said that Crawford even challenged him to a fight after the technicals.

Allen Iverson Received A Tech For “Bringing The Crowd Down”

A technical was called against Allen Iverson for bringing the crowd down. As his explanation for the technical, the referee told Iverson:

“It wasn’t your play and you went from here to there and brought the crowd down.”

Upon doing a little research to what the referee means for bringing the crowd down, we found out that Iverson was inciting the crowd to boo or show their displeasure towards the referee’s blatant call. Hence, “bringing the crowd down” against the referees.

Nonetheless, this is horrendous officiating. Just as Iverson called it “what are you worrying about the crowd for?”

Dennis Rodman Was Ejected For Sitting Down On The Court

The referees tossed the NBA’s baddest bad boy, Dennis Rodman, for sitting down on the court.
