Patrick Beverley Reveals Former Teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Was Mad That He Was Traded For Paul George

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has wowed many fans so far this season. Through 17 games, the 24-year old OKC Thunder guard has averaged 31.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game on 51.9% shooting from the field.

Amid his stellar season, fans and pundits have started to revisit the blockbuster trade between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder back in 2019 wherein Gilgeous-Alexander became part of the haul that sent seven-time All-Star Paul George to Los Angeles.

Speaking of the trade, Shai’s former Clippers teammate Patrick Beverley, who appeared on his very own “The Pat Bev Podcast”, now revealed that Shai was actually mad that he was involved in the trade to acquire PG13.

“He was mad about that [Paul George trade]. I’m like, ‘Bro, why are you mad?’ [And he was like], ‘What the f–k you mean, why I’m mad? [They were] saying you could’ve had me and Paul George.’ At a young age. For a sophomore to even attempt to say that, like okay, that’s some ballsy s–t,” Beverley said. “He knows exactly who he is. He’s a superstar.”
