Former Chicago Bulls Player Jay Williams Draws Similarities Between Zion Williamson And Michael Jordan
Fresh off of an injury-riddled season, Williamson does not disappoint for the New Orleans Pelicans this season. Through 15 games, he has averaged 22.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game on 57.8% shooting from the field.
With his dangerous combination of size, strength and speed, Williamson turns out as a matchup nightmare for any opponent. He has the ability to create easy looks for himself, playing bully-ball and powering his way to the rim. He also some insane hops that allow him to seamlessly make creative finishes at the rim.
Williamson has mesmerized many basketball pundits among the NBA community, and that includes former Chicago Bulls player and NBA analyst Jay Williams. Speaking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Williams heaped praises to the 22-year old Pelicans big man and even compared him to six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan.
“There is a Jumpman-like gracefulness to how he does it… He has a lot of MJ-like feel when he’s able to pierce through the particles of the air and find different ways of finishing around the rim. It’s special.”
