Allen Iverson Speaks Out On The Comparisons Between Him And Ja Morant
Since taking the reigns as the Memphis Grizzlies’ lead guy, Ja Morant has quickly grown into the spotlight as a rising superstar in the NBA. He has also become a fan favorite and has turned the Memphis Grizzlies into a must-see viewing in the NBA.
This season, Morant is filling up the box score numbers with averages of 28.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game on 46.8% shooting from the field.
As a lightning fast guard with a lot of flair, one thing that has always followed Morant is the comparison with Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson. Be it his frame, quickness, ability to attack the rim, demeanor, many pundits believe that Morant closely resembles the former 76ers superstar.
Appearing on “Cold as Balls” with comedian Kevin Hart, Iverson himself had the chance to speak out on the comparisons between him and the 23-year old Grizzlies star. Iverson thinks that their style of play is different but mentions that he relates with Morant in some other ways.
“I might not see it in the actual style of play, but the speed, the attitude, the bounce. Ja is 6’3″ and can fly. Ja is the real deal.”
