Klay Thompson Reacts To Passing Dirk Nowitzki And Jason Kidd On The All-Time Three-Pointers Made List
Last season, Klay Thompson had been getting back into form, after his long-awaited comeback, only to be his best again come playoff time.
After working his way back following the torn ACL he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals, Thompson received another devastating blow, when an injury he suffered in last year’s offseason turned out to be an Achilles tear.
But his hard work and strong will paid off, as Thompson was able to help the Warriors win the 2022 NBA Championship, and collect his title number four.
While Thompson still is a great player, he seems to have lost some explosiveness, especially on the defensive end. The sharp-shooter also struggled with his shot at the beginning of the season. In the last couple of weeks however, Klay has found back into form and has been a key factor in the Warriors turning their season around as of late.
On Monday night, Klay passed Dirk Nowitzki for 14th, and then moved into 13th place on the NBA’s all-time 3-pointers list, passing Jason Kidd with 9:47 remaining in the fourth quarter.
After the game, Thompson was asked what it meant to him to pass two of the greats of the game.
“Grew up loving both those guys, especially Dirk because he’s a shooter and JK, just as a baller, Bay legend. Oh yeah, it means a lot to me. I don’t take that for granted. Two of the all-time greats right there, so that means a lot to me.”
